Chatting on Samsung Chat 335 with e-buddy Mobile Messenger
Posted by noneofyourbusiness
I find it a little troubling how the Samsung GT-S3353 got the name “Samsung Ch@t“. Basically because it isn’t really as much fun to use for chatting.
And by chat, I mean, all the typing stuffs–SMS, IM and social networking.
I can’t help but compare it with Nokia. Before I had this phone, I was using Nokia C3.
C3’s built-in app Communities works great for me. The y!messenger chat has a really nice interface and allows you to type right on the chat screen. Plus, it allows you to have it running on the background. (This is definitely something good since C3is a Series 40 phone so it doesn’t really do multitasking)
Let’s go back to Samsung Chat, the social networking and chat features it has is crappy in a way. Facebook and Twitter is s-l-o-w, Palringo will always give you an error and the built in Y! Messenger doesn’t allow you to type directly on the chat screen. Yes, if you are gonna send an IM, it brings you to its basic text input screen. Same is true when you Tweet and/or make an FB Status Update. It works pretty much the same but I kinda looks a little lame and not-so-realtime-like. And you can’t see what the person you were chatting with is saying while you’re typing.
The best thing about this though, is, with Samsung Chat, you can choose what connection to use for your apps. So if you want to use WiFi to connect, you can easily avoid accidental data charges by choosing your WiFi network as your default connection.(And you can’t do that with your C3)
Luckily, I have found a way around the “Chat” problems.
I installed the ebuddy Mobile Messenger app!
And it works purrrrfect for me! I lili love it! 🙂
And it supports Facebook Chat!
Note: If you want the typing-right-on-the-chat-screen feature, after logging in, go to settings in tick “type directly on the chat screen”.
